Dr. Ali Behmard grew up in the North shore. He attended university in Vancouver and completed both his Bachelor’s degree in honors physiology and his dental degree (DDS) at the University of British Colombia. Shortly after completing his dental degree, he further pursued his love for dentistry by doing a one year General Practice residency (G.P.R) in Vancouver. This exposed him to further training in oral maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and pedodontics.
In 2001, Dr Behmard traveled to Vietnam to work at Ho Chi Man city’s major trauma center, to treat maxillofacial trauma patients, and to promote international dentistry to other dental residents in Vancouver.
Continuing education is a very important part of Dr. Behmard’s philosophy because he truly believes that one has to be on the cutting edge of their field to be able to provide their patients with the highest quality of care. He is also a clinical instructor at ubc denal school.
He has further expanded his training by attending multiple externships in advanced general dentistry and oral surgery on St. Petersburg Florida, Houston Texas, and University of Washington. He is a member of Association of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Canadian Dental Association, and Vancouver Dental District Society. Furthermore, he also belongs to multiple study clubs in the field of esthetic dentistry and oral implants. He just recently returned from Michigan where he was trained the new field of computerized dentistry (CEREC system).
Dr. Behmard is newly married and his wife is a family physician working in West Vancouver. Besides his work and family, Dr. Behmard loves traveling, skiing, running, and playing soccer. He is looking forward to being back in the North Shore to contribute to his community. |
